Foldout colour lithographic plate of a chart of the spectra opposite title page has become partially separated with a short tear in the border; B&W Illustrations; Small 8vo 7½"-8" tall; 432 pages; This is the fourth English language edition which was taken from the sixth German language edition. Translation was by Edgar F. Smith.
