"A Sacred Love" is a collection of poems on spiritual themes. These soul-stirring verses are meant to inspire feelings similar to those experienced during prayer; that intimate communion with one's Creator. They are expressions of awe and admiration, written to evoke feelings of utter humility and adoration. They express the magnetic-like force that attracts the pure soul to the Source of his being. In that irrepressible longing to be close to Him, one is consumed by the power of that union, and yields all sense of self. This is a small sacrifice to make for the attainment of a greater bliss; the merging of one's will with His. This work is an exploration of the heart, the soul, and the thought processes of one of the rarest phenomenon in the mortal realm; the truly detached believer. It represents a struggle between the divine and the mundane, the earthly and the heavenly, physical hardship and spiritual rapture, and highlights the contrast between the divine and the mortal, the perfect and the imperfect, the Creator and the created. It is about the recognition and acknowledgement of this contrast, this vast difference in station, and in the possession of certain qualities, between a human being and his God. It is an ode to the Creator, a confession of sins, a demonstration of unworthiness and inadequacy in the face of utter perfection, an expression of heartfelt gratitude, and an outpouring of boundless love and admiration all at once. It is, in essence, a love letter to God.
