Excerpt from A Register of the Members of St. Mary Magdalen College, Oxford, Vol. 8: Fellows; Indexes The 'first series, by Dr. Bloxam, of the Foundation Members (beginning with the Choristers and ending With the Demies) is in seven volumes, of which the first was published in 1853 and the seventh in 1881; the Index in 1885. The first volume of this series (containing the Fellows to 1910) was published in 1894 and the seventh in 1911, thus extending to the same length in time as its pre decessor. The Index has been divided into three classes for the sake of facility of reference. A list of names of places and countries mentioned has been added which was not included in the former Index, but which has been often found to be wanted. In this, under the head of the College itself, I have given. Under separate sub-headings, the details of the Chapel, Hall, Library, School, Buildings, and Plate, which at once afford a brief summary View of the history, while a mass of other details which could not be classified are under the head of M z'scellaneous.
