Wow, this is intense! It doesn't even matter that there are only three songs on A Profound Hatred of Man, it's good enough to influence another page in the maturity of hardcore. Sure it's heavy, sure there's lots of metallic guitar crunches, and sure enough they're pretty angry, but the Shai Hulud aren't a bunch of muscleheads. Instead, there's more of a developed, complex sound to the point where each song will fly into a hundred different directions before it ends; it's more "grown up" in comparison to all the hard guy mentality that's infiltrated the hardcore scene.
