I've been curious about A New Love For Charlotte for some time now. To be perfectly honest, I didn't really care for her in either Jenna's or Nadine's stories. But, there was no way I would skip over an Amy Lillard novel just because a character wasn't exactly my favorite. Plus, this IS the Wells Landing series, of which I have been a fan since book one.
OK, I'll get it right out there. Charlotte is still not my favorite but I think I understand her a little bit better after reading her story. True, some of her actions really puzzled me in A New Love For Charlotte, but I am certainly a lot more sympathetic to her now. She's had such a tough row to hoe over the years and there's nothing like repeated loss to make a person grasp on too tight and try to control everything and everyone around you. Fear of more loss and being alone can get to even the best of us.
Amy Lillard's Wells Landing series is one of my favorite Amish series. Each is different and no two are identical. And I also know every time I start one that I'm in for a good story. If you enjoy Amish stories that aren't just cookie cutter repetitions of every other Amish novel out there you should check out this book in particular and the series in general...
