I declined this request and gave my reasons at some length for doing so; reasons which, I beg to say, apply with at least equal force to the comments or explanations you propose to furnish in answer to a recent review of mr. powell's Work on Apostolical Succession. Moreover, I could not possibly pledge myself to the insertion of articles which I have not had the opportunity of reading.
