After returning from Ford's Theatre the night President Abraham Lincoln is shot, a young girl writes a letter to her hero. The book also contains information about the shooting of President Lincoln, Ford's Theatre today, and the Civil War.
This book is illustrated and contains archival photographs and drawings. It also includes bolded vocabulary sidebars. Children will be able to idenfity with the young, main character and learn about an important event in American history at the same time.
