Poor with no dust jacket. Poor condition, text not complete. Heavy wear and rubbing to brown leather covers. Names written on front pastedown, front end page missing. Damp staining and heavy foxing throughout. Pages missing from page 14 through page 23. Page 23 missing a large piece from the bottom. Pages missing from page 40 through page 45. Page 59/60 missing. Last complete page is page 264. Piece missing from bottom of page 265/266. Top of last four pages missing so I do not know what page numbers they are. Last page ends in the middle of a sentance, so there is more missing at the end of the book. On this last page, which is missing a large piece at the top, there begins an entry at the bottom dated "Tangier, 17th April, 1817, " which might give those who are familiar with the text some idea of how much is missing at the end.
