I have enjoyed using this text in my class. It is interesting, comprehensive, and well written (not difficult to digest). However, it was published in 1997, and this limits its usefulness. Cell phones are just touched on, and there is no discussion of the way the internet and file sharing has impacted the recording and video industries. Of course not--this had not even occured yet!
