Xxii. 22 so also in the New Testament, Acts vii. 38 Heb. Ii. Hence its Christian application (1) to the general body of the faithful, as Matt. Xvi. 18, xviii. 17 (the only instances in the Gospels); 1 Cor. X. 32; Ephes. I. 22, etc.; (2) to individual icongregations, larger or smaller, Acts viii. I; 1 Cor. I. 2; 1 Thess. Rev i. 4, Rom.
