A few words claim special notice. The verb dduovv (a late formation, perhaps coined by the translators, from a'0(3os, dtorj) in all the 21 passages where it occurs in the uncials takes o in the second syllable, d6ooOa-o/uu, rjOoutfiai etc., apparently owing to the difficulty felt in pronouncing the long vowel twice consecutively4. 1 So in Mark viii. 14 B.
