Emkang, myself, Mukutang, ourselves, Ekang, thyself, Wokang, yourselves, Akang, bis or herself, Ekang, themselves. They fay, sometimes, emtangkang, etangkang, atangkang, mukutangkang, wotangkang, etangkang, but I suppose these are not frequently used. Inde is an interrogative pronoun which signifies, who, whom. It is never used but to signify beings endowed with reason; as, inde fa.be? who is come? a fa inde ra? whom did he bring? Mung is another interrogative pronoun, which signifies what or which j as, mung na a ra? what or which is it P This interrogative pronoun is not restricted to any one gender. The Susoos fay, mung ame? what man? mung gine? what woman? and, mung she? what thing? When the Susoos express any one, any thing, any place, ISo.. they double the words, muk, a person, she, a thing, ire, a place, and put 6 between them; as, mue o mu#e, any one, she o she, any thing, ire 6 ire, any place. In the same way they say, bo e o bo/;e, any country or nation, tai 6 tai, anyto'wn, ame 6 hame, any man, gine 6 gine, any woman, SsV. X. Of Prepositions. I would not make this an article, were it not that I conceive, any who may read this attempt to point out the principles of the Susoo language, will expect to meet with something about prepositions; for, so far as I know of the language, there is only one in it. There are little words of the fame signification with them, however, which follow nouns and pronouns, and which might be called prepositions if they preceded them. As I know of no proper name forthem, when they are used in this singular construction, I shall call them particles when I may have occasion to mention the..."
