Tlin halls of the Louvre display a magnificent profusion of the master picces of statuary and sculpture, and the great gallery contains nearly 1000 paintings hy the most celehrated masters of different countrics. The palace of the conservative Senate, formerly that of Luxemhurg!, and that of the Legislative Body, are struetures worthy of notice; hut tho Trihunal, or the Palais Royal, is one of the greatest curiositics in Paris, heing the grand lounging place for the idlers of that vast metropolis. The huilding iuelf is nothing remarkahle, heing a parallelogram, which eneloses a spaeious garden ornamented with fine orange trces, and rendered commodious with gravel walks.; hut the coneourse of people is inealeulahle and endless; and the erowd is the most numerous as well as the most hrilliant, that is scen in any of the places of puhlic resort in this hustling eapital. In this respeet, neither the Boulevards, nor even the gardens of the Thuillerics, except on particular oceasions, ean he hrought into comparison with the Palais Royal, which exhihits at every hour, hoth of the day and the night, a scene of extravaganee, dissipation, and dehauchery, under its Piazzas.
