Invent, est. taken March 26, 1712; presented by Wid. Mercy, June 3, 1713; amt..274, inclnding house, barn, and lot, land at Westcot's, in horse-pasture, close, Shiphan, meadow in the field and in the swamp, etc. (2638) II. John3 (dea.), b. Jan. 9, 1675; m. Abigail Holmes dau. of Stephen and Martha Holmes, April 30, 1702 (2731); lived in Stamford; d. Dec. 10, 1732, wid. Abigail surviving him. See Note, p. 310. His ear-mark was ent. at S., July 15, 1700. His father deeded him a home-lot in S., also land east of " norwoaton river," and other lots, Dec. 28, 1702. He and his father also exchanged land east of Noroton River, Nov. 5, 1708; and he bought other land west of Noroton River, April, 1708. He represented Stamford in the Ct. Gen. Court every year, except 1718, from 1715 to 1724; and four of theBe years, was a representative at both the May and Oct. sessions. He also was a representative again in Oct., 1731, and May, 1732, the year of his death. He was selectman 13 years, first in 1714, and was one of a com. for laying out land iu 1721, etc. He frequently bought and sold land in S. from 1714 to 1732, the last land being bought but 8 mos. before his death. He was called Dea. as early as 1718, and Sen. after 1728. In 1729 he was one of a com. to "discors" with Mr. Davenport respecting the misunderstanding about his ..".
