But one fight wasn't enough, and Sheridan set out to test himself on an epic journey into how and why we fight, facing Olympic boxers, Brazilian jiu-jitsu stars, and Ultimate Fighting champions. Wonderful journey into the world of fighting. Very descriptive writing that really puts you in the cage/ring with Sam. The book is well written and some nonfighting parts are great travel stories. The book deals with Sam's long and arduous life of learning to be a fighter, both mental and physical aspects are covered. I'd recommend this book for anybody that has every thought that they had "what it takes" to step into a ring or cage or anybody that wants to learn about the deeper motivation/aspects of fighting. GREAT read and well worth the money.

Stellar performance Mr. Sheridan!!!
i highly recommend this book to anyone with even a little interest in martial arts or a young adult who doesn't know what to do with their life. if i read this 10 years ago i would have probably done the same. to think i was debating joing the merchant marines myself. the book gave many true insights & Sam was really good at making you feel as if you were traveling around with him. i feel i have grown as a fighter from just reading this book & it has also given me new areas to research. thanks again Sam
