.45 Caliber Widow Maker was a well written good book, which was the 5th one in a series of six westerns about a young man named Cuno Massey. I just finished the last book, .45 Caliber Firebrand, and in my opinion, Peter Brandvold just shot himself in the foot by the way he so abruptly ended the last story of this series, as if he was tired of doing it and just wanted to say by-by. I have read many westers and look for reality in their story. Firebrand was a disappointment and certainly not characteristic of the other books in this series that Brandvold has written. I am not saying I will not read any of his other books, but if I do find others ending like Firebrand, then I will seek elsewhere in the western field. In my opinion, he just flatly ruined what could have been a great story series. Gosh I hate to be left hanging like that. Sorry I have to put it that way Peter, but that is my honest opinion. So for that reason, I only gave this a 4 star rating for the entire series, because telling the entire picture is the proper way to write a review. Firebrand was a good story with a sorry ending.
