The cold winter of 1973 came and saw a change of lifestyle that would last me for the next twenty-four years. My story tells you, the reader, of what each year had to offer and of the event of that year. I deal with my hardships, laughs and tears, through all those years of serving queen and country. The story has humour and is a compelling read. This book is written with my own thoughts and how I remember things and that's the way that I put this story into words which makes this book different from the others. It tells the story of stresses and strains of training, the sights and sounds of Northern Ireland and through the Cold War while serving in Germany to the realisation of leaving the service and adapting to a civilian lifestyle. It draws you the reader into my world and gives an insight and hopefully an understanding of how the military has changed through those years which I served.
