It is just as well because the jazz content of this set is quite low and there are few individual features. Half of the songs showcase an unidentified vocal group or singer Al Bowlly and the performances overall can be considered superior dance music rather than jazz or swing. The music is pleasing, melodic and the set has a fine repertoire including several Hoagy Carmichael songs, a seven-minute medley of Ray Noble tunes and some period pieces, but little unexpected or overly spontaneous occurs. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
