I created this 12 step journal as a tool for helping you keep your side of your street clean. I'm not going to teach you about AA, or the twelve steps. My hope for this 12 step journal is it will be a tool for those working any 12 step program. One of your journal pages will offer self inventory tools. Since we need to keep ourselves in check, I have provided prompts for your personal tenth step inventory. You can write down what you are feeling on the lines given next to them. You will also be guided to check in with yourself using H.A.L.T. (Are you Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired?). While you travel along your recovery road, be gentle with yourself. The serenity prayer is offered on each page as a reminder for your own inner peace. There is a gratitude list available on each journal page so you can remember what brings you happiness every day. Even the smallest gratitude on rough days can help lighten your outlook. On personal dark days we can find small, simple things to be grateful for, perhaps it could be you kept breathing? The page next to your focused inventory is blank for your personal reflections. It is your page to use however you would like. You may write about feelings, keep a list of what is important for you, draw pictures, write down phone numbers you would like to remember, or whatever comes up for you. The choice is yours. Your journal is a simple recovery tool that you can use in addition to your 12 step recovery program.
