Long after reading this insightful and well-researched book you'll be remembering revelations about things you thought you already knew pretty well, details that seem to explain many international prejudices and squabbles. Much as I enjoyed this book, however, I have two complaints: 1) it should have been longer to include even more revelations and 2) its lack of editing, which sadly seems to have become the way with most current literature. Nevertheless, I recommend it heartily, and would love a sequel about the English and Spanish (I still think there's a connection between the Armada and the current Mexican/US border).
