Graffex is a series of illustrated literary classics retold for young readers, using a graphic novel format which is particularly popular with reluctant readers. Who is the mysterious Mr Hyde, who stalks the streets of Victorian London at night committing indescribable crimes? And why does he have such a hold over the famous and respectable Dr Henry Jekyll? As the mystery unfolds, a shocking truth emerges...The classic story is presented as an exciting and fast-paced graphic novel which remains faithful to Stevenson's original text - unlike the many later film versions. Specially commissioned full-colour artwork brings excitement and atmosphere to this classic tale. Speech bubbles work with the main text to emphasise and enhance the retelling. A running glossary at the foot of each page helps young readers with any challenging vocabulary without disrupting their reading experience. Endmatter provides information about the author, the historical background to the period in which the author lived and a timeline of world events that places the work in its historical context.

The actual story of Jekyll and Hyde is different than what I expected it to be (LESS creepier, in fact!). It is told simply about a man who can, quite literally, change from one appearance to another, thus creating the effect of two persons. One admittedly better-spirited, and the other having a dark soul.
As classics go, this one is written very well. Certainly not a favorite of mine, but still it was worth the read, just to see what it was like.

Brilliant
Like Shelly's "Frankenstein", Stevenson writes a cautionary tale of the dangers of science. Dr Jekyll's desire to split the good and evil from man results in murder. Mr Hyde is at first fun for Jekyll, but gradually Jekyll understands the dangers of such a man. Hyde does not feel guilt, but Jekyll can.
Stevenson's narration is down right creepy in sections. This is a true classic to be read by anyone looking for a good scare.
