Similarly, the taproots of the Church are found in the primary truths of Christian faith in the biblical writings of the apostles, articulated by the Fathers, and expressed in the teaching and practice of the ancient Church. These roots are sacred; in them we come to know God's story of love in Christ and by faith make that story (his-story) our own. This seminar will outline the ways in which churches can renew its spirituality and mission by inhabiting the Story of God in Scripture expressed in the Great Tradition. Special focus highlights the promise of this rediscovery for the contemporary urban church's worship, discipleship, and mission.
