A Superb Epic
The book, The Brothers Ashkenazi, translated by Maurice Samuels, and written by Isaac Joshua Singer, is to me the finest novel written in the Yiddish language. The translation by Samuels is elegant and superbly readable. I would give this book to any reader I know and feel that that person would love this book. I read it some while ago, so I am sorry that I cannot offer details, but I can give it my highest recommendation.
