This can be a fast read if you are just looking to skim the surface of Kandinsky's ideas or a deep see exploration of his creative concepts. I first came across selections from this in my graduate seminar class, but I would recommend this read to anyone who has an interest in art and creative expression. Possibly dense at times the overall volume is a quick read worth re-reading to savor and juicy bits. I have passed this along to friends, other artists, musicians, and students. Kandinsky's writing enriches his imagery, but you don't have to be a fan of modern or abstract work to enjoy the writing and concepts addressed in the book.
