Excerpt from Egypt, Nubia, and Ethiopia: Illustrated by One Hundred Stereoscopic Photographs, Taken by Francis Frith for Messrs. Negretti and Zambra The series of views is arranged geographically from north to south. We begin with Cairo and the Pyramids, and, following the course of the river, we proceed to Dendera, to Thebes, to Hermonthis, to Philae and Biggeh, at the first cataract, where we quit Egypt and enter Nubia and then on to Abou Simbel, at the second cataract, examining the principal buildings as we pass. This takes us to our sixty-second view.
