Seller's Description:
Fine. No Dust Jacket As Issued. Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling; Still Gift Quality. 12.5 inches tall; 304 pages with an index and bibliography. Full color photography with descriptive text. The Turkish holdings in the Khalili Collection constitute the most comprehensive collection of Ottoman art outside Turkey, with examples from the 15th to the early 20th centuries. The Collection is especially strong on calligraphy, and provides an important corrective to the Western view of Ottoman art as consisting principally of ceramics and textiles. The catalogue illustrates 226 items from the Collection in full colour. Each object is catalogued in detail, and two introductory essays narrate the history of the Ottoman Empire and of the collection of its artifacts and Western attitudes to them.

Seller's Description:
VG+ in NF jacket. Large Soft Cover. Black rear cover and spine, artwork front cover are all clean and bright. Just a trace of rubbing at the head and tail of the spine. Single vertical crease runs from the head of the spine to the tail, as if the book had been forced open at one point for a scan. Binding has a very slight forward lean, but is still tight. Glossy, high quality pages are all clean, white, and crisp. Illustrated with a stunning gallery of color photographs and art plates. 304 pages. Dust Jacket-has just a trace of rubbing at the head of the spine and a single 1/4" closed tear in the upper edge of the rear cover. Some faint scratches over the face of the black rear cover-not obtrusive, but neither are they completely invisible. Larger, heavier book will ship at actual cost for orders selecting USPS International or Priority Mail services. Pretty nice copy of an uncommon book.
