Griffith was a small press publisher of poetry, and editor of several magazines that featured Norse including: *Sheaf, * *Hearse, * and *Poetry Now. * Norse was a gay beat poet who stayed at "the Beat Hotel" with William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso. It was here Norse wrote the experimental novel *Beat Hotel* using cut-up techniques. The Pocket Poets Series No. 32.
