What a great, great book. Whatever your opinion of Forrest Carter as a person may be, he wrote truly profound books.
In his account of Geronimo's life story, Carter conveys extreme empathy for the tragedy inflicted on the native people of the United States. Movingly beautiful and sometimes humorous, artfully and masterfully written, it completely absorbs the reader and leaves a lasting impression. One of my two absolute favorite books, both written by this author. Read it.
