Seller's Description:
Wyeth, Andrew. Fine + in Near Fine jacket. 4to-over 9¾"-12" tall. 208pp, 294 illustrations, 96 in full-colour. Book appears unread, very slightly dusty around edges, otherwise pristine. Laminated dust jacket with full reproduction of 'The First Painting 1971' has some light scoring and rubbing but is in excellent condition. A superb complete collection of the drawings and paintings that Wyeth produced in virtual secrecy over 15 years. His model was a neighbour in their Pennsylvania neighbourhood, Helga Testorf, and the series ranges from a small, closely observed sketch of Helga's eye through numerous studies, highly polished drybrushes and temperas. A heavy book this will require extra postage especially outside the UK. First British edition, originally published in the USA by Abrams.
