Well, I have just passed the 43 yr mark of being in M Company, I was a replacement after the massacre and served with the survivors stateside in the renamed 'D" company at Ft. Dix, NJ an Infantry AIT training company. This experiment gone bad is the reason that since combat units are made up of various experienced personnel, not ALL newbies. Then I served my time in RVN, seeing the wisdom of phased in/out with most troops experienced and it was clear to me that the experiment was a killer from inception. Example, the freshmen against the seniors winner take all. Excellent writing!
