For history buffs only
There are so many historical names strewn throughout this book that I was overwhelmed. The one-sided love story could have been very good, not simplified, but complex like all relations are, but it was lost in the minutiae (my spell check doesn't work with this format apparently) of the political times of the 1950's, especially the McCarthy era. Was I supposed to keep track of who all was mentioned, sometimes 17 names on one page? It was more like a college text book, and I felt like I was going to be tested on it. So I didn't care for it much. But I liked Tim, one the main characters. I wish it had been all about him.
