This small, attractive bookplate reads 'From the Library of Angela Carter' and was designed by Sebastian Carter of the Rampant Lions Press and was authorised by the executors of her estate, from whom we bought the major part of her considerable collection. Loosely inserted typed signed letter from Jonathan Cape Publisher, Liz Calder to author Angela Carter, with short, hand-written note "In case you're wondering what to do on Boxing Day..." Also loosely inserted a lank Publisher's Compliments Slip from Jonathan Cape. Original publisher's binding in back with gilt lettering at spine. Dust jacket design by Craig Dodd in 'Suffragette' purple, orange, & white, with a b/w photograph of the author by Jerry Bauer on rear of dust jacket. (This book is quite heavy, and delivery costs may be a consideration especially outside Britain. ) Angela Olive Pearce, formerly Carter, née Stalker (1940-1992) was an English novelist, short story writer, poet, and journalist, known for her feminist, magical realism, and picaresque works.
