Seller's Description:
Fine in Fine jacket. First edition. Preface by Georges Simenon. Translated by Mary Manheim. Illustrated by Nikolaus E. Wolf. Octavo. Fine in fine dust jacket with tiny tears.
to be honest, have not made any of the recipes
i particularly love the wine list at the back of
the book, its excellent, concise, not too much
info but what is there is reliable
I adore the book jacket photo, in keeping with
Madame's detective husband, Maigret, the hcover
includes a picture of Maigret, his revolver, French
newspapers, mussels (my favorite dish), a bottle
of Calvados, a pix of Edith Piaf, a boxer i do not
know, and some fruit--i am collage artist so i
appreciate this. The hardcover jacket is prettier
I have a copy of the softcover, photo reduced .
Clearly, i have explained nothing of the recipes
but they look first rate. Not complicated. Well
presented.
