Sue Pierce is the principal of Pierce and Associates Company, Inc., a professional service company that offers facility and energy planning and consulting services to K-12 schools and other public entities. Ms. Pierce has worked as a consultant to local government and school districts for 22 years. Serving as executive director of a public policy research organization from 1988 - 1994, she had the opportunity to use both her finance and public policy skill sets to effect significant change in Iowa. In 1994, Ms. Pierce resigned as executive director to start Pierce and Associates. She has been engaged by several school districts, cities, and counties to design and implement broad-based facility planning efforts, to run referendums, and create high performance facilities focused on energy conservation and an improved work and learning environment. Her extensive work with school districts includes providing a variety of planning services in the areas of facilities, energy, green initiatives, and finance. Ms. Pierce is frequently a speaker on energy and facility issues at school conventions and trainings, a presenter on energy topics at national webinars including Facility Masters, School Dude and Energy Smart Schools Department of Energy webinars. Ms. Pierce has been an active community leader serving on various local and state boards including the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Goodwill Industries, the Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and USGBC LEED for Schools Committee. She was chosen by her peers to receive the "Woman of Excellence" Award in the category of "women pursuing truth", and has earned placement in America's directory of "Who's Who Among American Professional Women."
