Robert D McChesney
R.D. McChesney is Professor Emeritus of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at New York University. He is the author of many works on Persianate Central Asia and Afghanistan, most recently Four Central Asian Shrines: A Socio-Political History of Architecture (2021). He is also co-editor and translator of The History of Afghanistan: Fayz? Mu?ammad Katib Hazarah's Siraj al-tawarikh (12 volumes, 2013-2019) and is the founder of the Afghanistan Digital Library (https: //afghanistandl.nyu.edu).
