Rina Robinson's most recent achievement has been as a contributor to the acclaimed 'We are Australian', a collection of Australian stories by many award-winning Aussie writers and artists. This debut novella, 'Tarnished Threads' is the first of many writing projects on Rina's 'to do' list and also features her talent as an artist - where bold abstracts sit beside mystical landscapes. Rina Robinson is a star of stage and screen, starting her career at the age of 12, as principal dancer in pantomime in the UK. Continuing with pantomime, she also took part in variety shows and in summer theatre seasons. Rina teamed with Elaine Peters to create a sister act touring UK and the continent. The next chapter in Rina's varied life was to come to Australia. Always ready for adventure, Rina travelled solo on the maiden voyage of the Iberia with Brisbane as her destination. The Chief Migration Officer, Sir David Longland, invited Rina to join a concert party touring the state. After marrying Dennis Robinson with Sir David giving her away, Rina continued in the Theatre Royal, touring and clubs. Hers was a popular act and included dancing with a marionette. After relocating to Sydney, Dennis became part of the act. They were kept busy as puppets became increasingly popular for children's shows. There were TV appearances; with Don Lane and Graham Kennedy as well as many overseas performances. Rina began a solo career, acting on television and in film; with such credits as A Country Practice, Chopper Squad. She understudied Carol Raye in The Pleasure of His Company at the Theatre Royal which also starred Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Stanley Holloway, David Langton. Rina went on to become a tutor of Speech & Drama at the Marian Street Theatre School. This rich background and varied life experience, brought writing as a logical next step. Rina has been published in various anthologies and magazines with short stories, poetry and anecdotes. With boundless energy, imagination and zest for life Rina has two fantasy novels and several children's books in the wings, which also combine her whimsical artwork, and are eagerly awaited. See less
