PPierre Wat est professeur d'histoire de l'art a l'universite de Paris-I. Specialiste du romantisme, auteur de monographies consacrees a Pierre Buraglio, a Claude Viallat, il est l'auteur de Constable aux editions Hazan (2002 et 2010). II a egalement publie de nombreux textes sur la peinture contemporaine et, dernierement, un essai remarque, Turner, menteur magnifique (Hazan, 2010). Tous deux proches amis de Frederic Benrath, ils ont repertorie et classe les oeuvres et les archives de l'artiste apres son deces accidentel.Marie-Francoise Quignard est conservateur honoraire a la reserve des livres rares de la Bibliotheque nationale de France.
