When she's asked to define a "Power Romance," Jo-Ann has a quick grin and an answer: "A hero who is honorable, despite the forces pitted against him. A hero who is lovable. A man you could proudly take home to your mother," she says, indicating her model is the dashing Irish-American man she took home to her own parents twenty-nine years ago. A Power day? "Arising at five, sipping coffee while the sun chases the moon over the hill country of south Texas, then upstairs to my office to work. In my jammies. Natch. By two, I'm ready to see real live people. Go to the gym, Lift weights. Sweat a little, before I cook dinner." Must be a Power-ful lot of fun. "Yes, with many rewards," Jo-Ann admits. "Readers write how much they appreciate my care with historical accuracy, as well as the love stories." Jo-Ann has also received many awards, including Best Novel of 1993, and the nomination for outstanding Career Achievement from the Romantic Times Publishing Group. See less
