Minton's father was an embroider and taught her to stitch at a very early age. She is the only licensed Disney cross-stitch designer in the UK and in 1990 she set up her own company, Designer Stitches UK Ltd., to design and manufacture cross-stitch kits. She also sells her kits through QVC, the television shopping channel.
