Bruce Scates is professor of History and Australian Studies at Monash University and Director of the National Centre for Australian Studies. He is the lead author of Anzac Journeys (short listed in the Ernest Scott Prize 2014), World War One: A History in 100 Stories (2015) and The Last Battle: A History of Soldier Settlement in Australia (2016). He is currently leading an international team investigating the history of Anzac Day. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and chaired the Military and Cultural History panel advising the Australian Anzac Centenary Board. See less
