Seller's Description:
VG. Size: 11 x 9 x 6 inches; Text free of underlining, writing and highlighting. Very nice clean copy. \Preface Encouraging the production of new projects by contemporary artists has been an ongoing objective of The Power Plant. Threshold, however, breaks new ground. For the first time in the history of the institution, and on the occasion of our tenth anniversary, we are proud to be able to support the development of eight new works by artists from Canada and abroad. The commitment of all those involved transformed this considerable challenge into a pleasurable endeavour. I would like to begin by thanking the artists who have created extraordinary works within necessarily limited budgets. I am particularly grateful to those artists who understood the need to rethink the scale of their installations to a manageable level. All achieved this brilliantly without reducing the scope of their projects. I also wish to acknowledge the outstanding work of the staff of the gallery. In particular, I would like to thank Steven Pozel, the former Director of The Power Plant, who energetically sought sponsorship for this exhibition. I would also like to commend Paul Zingrone, Head of Installation, who, over many months, assisted in the development of the eight new projects in addition to restaging two others. 88 pages.
