The most important events in the history of the world were foretold 700-1000 years before the Passion of Christ. 'He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.' (From Isaiah 53.) And, 'Resurrection is dependent on the Messiah.' (Psalm 16:10, 110:1.) The Passion was the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for humanity's wickedness, sickness and failures. The Resurrection represents victory over sin and death, and a path to eternal life. Only Christ has conquered death and now we can approach death with hope, knowing greater things await those who know, love and obey Him. This new book on the subject, draws together many interesting strands to keep the importance of these events to the forefront of our minds, because we all need reminding of them.
