Another in the series with Joe Gunther of the Vermont Bureau of Investigation. Ranges from St. Albans, VT to Newark NJ with interesting and sometimes comical interaction with local and state authorities. It involves contention between local and out of state real estate agents and developers and landowners and their desire to retain family lands and make a living. The murder by arson of a young farmer and several accidents involving other farmers leads to an interesting conclusion.
I have read seven earlier books by the same author and am familiar with the localities involved. All provide an excellent description of the towns, state, and the politics involved in Vermont. Having lived and operated a real estate business in Vermont and New Hampshire, I have become familiar with the area. Reading about Joe Gunther's exploits is just plain fun.
