But "Batman Theme" is all bombast, and at under a minute and a half (still too long for this one, some might say) it should be. With a huge, thunderous beat and brass spreading everywhere like batwings, this creative arrangement flies right past the discotheque and "heavy" listening. "Why Not?" ends the other side with some jangly, sitar-esque guitar, as if someone felt it important to acknowledge Gabor Szabo or at least psychedelia.
