This is a Very Good Plus copy of the First Edition. Green cloth binding, ruled. Gilt lettering on the spine and Scott's coat-of-arms on the front cover. Clean text; 488 pages, indexed. Pages 160-61 were carelessly opened, so the edges are a bit ragged; there is a tear, but no loss. Only occasional foxing. There is a slight lean, but this remains an attractive period copy. Size: 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall.
