Approximately 13 inches by 20 inches, Two punch-hole bound. Stiff card binder (front and back but no connecting spine). First page torn at punch holes and thus separated but present. Estimates of monthly mean upper air statistics for the Northern Hemisphere are presented for each month of the year. The first purpose of the work shown here was to permit extraction of gridpoint data for use as an approximation in numerical weather prediction models at the Fleet Numerical Weather Central at Monterey, California. The second purpose is to furnish the military, particularly the Naval Weather officer, planner, or scientist, a more complete and facile hemispheric atmospheric height, temperature model. Now the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) provides the highest quality, most relevant and timely worldwide meteorology and oceanographic support to U.S. and coalition forces from its Operations Center in Monterey, California.
