You can't go wrong with any of Rick Steves' travel books and his volume on Paris is no exception. It is an expanded version of the section in his book on France so if you're not traveling outside the city, don't bother buying both.
Rick concentrates on the budget traveler. His restaurant and hotel recommendations are the more modest 2 star ones so this book is not for those with an ample travel budget. But his tip for visiting Versailles, for example, will more than save you the price of the book.
