Being a puppy is exciting. Everything is new and waiting to be explored. A puppy who is intrigued by this wonderful world will do so in the ways that are natural to him or her. Our job is to help our new puppy to understand the rules and boundaries, the good and acceptable behaviors that allow him or her to become a wonderful, happy citizen. This is where Puppy Kindergarten is especially important. Puppies are adorable and so much fun but it's also the most important developmental phase in a dog's life! You will want to take advantage of this crucial time to shape your puppy's development. And you can build a mutually respectful working relationship that will serve you and your dog through your lives. In kindergarten, your puppy will learn basics such as walking nicely on a loose lead and commands to sit, down, come (extremely important!), leave it, stay, and heel. Mastering some of these could save you puppy's life. Proper socialization is also vital. Puppyhood is the time to socialize him or her. Going to Training classes should always be a happy, exciting adventure for both you and your dog. This journal is intended to help make training as enjoyable and free of stress as possible. This journal is designed to assist you as train your dog. Included is a course planner where you can list the information about each class: date, time, location, and so forth. There is a checklist where you can make notes on what you need to get and what to take to classes. The first page of each week is designed to cover the class itself. There is a place for writing down the goals for that training, what was done or learned during the class, and what you are to work on for the following week. The remaining six days allow you to determine what your goal is for that day's practice, what you actually achieve, and any questions or concerns you may wish to bring up at the next class.
