This book doesn't have any real direction or depth, but that doesn't make it a bad book, there are just better ones by the Dalai Lama. I have read over a dozen of the Dalai Lama's books, and this was my less fulfilling of all. Two better books by HHDL are "The Art of Happiness" and second... "How to Practice, The Way to a Meaningful Life." "Ocean of Wisdom" is a small book with many nice color plates, but other than that is just a collection of thoughts by the Dalai Lama on how to live in today's world. I am not a Buddhist, but feel strongly about Buddhist teachings. The two books I mentioned instead of this one were also the first books I ever read relating to Buddhism or by the Dalai Lama. Highly recommended. "Ocean of Wisdom," not so much.
