Seller's Description:
No illustrations. Fair in Good jacket. Book. 16mo-over 5¾-6¾" tall. Blue cloth covers with red decoration on front cover and red lettering on spine. Book is on good condition with faded spine, shelf wear to edges and cover edges and soiled page edges. Text block is starting to crack but pages are still attached. Contents are clean and complete. The previous owner's bookplate is on front paste down. The dust jacket is in good condition with some discoloration and chipping and slight paper loss to edges and corners. Still a decent copy of a hard to find original copy, especially with a dust jacket. The book blurb is on the front panel and the New Science Series blurb is on the rear. There are three titles listed even though this title is the first book in the series, indicating that this book is a later printing. The author uses his experiences with a Melanesian tribe in New Guinea to show how sacred traditions and myths control people's moral and social behaviors.
